The first Junior Squash Tournament in Fiji for over 10 years was recently held at the Victoria Courts in Suva. Squash Fiji has implemented a junior coaching program in Suva, Nadi, Lautoka and Savusavu over the past 6 months, so for most this was their first ever tournament.
35 players contested the McDonalds Junior Tournament in Under 9, 11, 13, 15 and 19 age group events. The tournament was a great success, with many parents and friends supporting the players. Congratulations to all the coaches who have done a great job in such a short time getting the players to learn the basics and skills to play. A big thank you to McDonalds Fiji who are the major sponsor for junior squash in Fiji.
