Coaching

In conjunction with the World Squash Federation, Oceania Squash has implemented a coach education development program aimed at enhancing the standard of coaching skills in the Oceania Region’s Island Nations. This program introduces potential squash coaches to a formal coach education program so that they have the skills to conduct player and group coaching

To ensure unified and standardised coaching structures the Federation promotes the World Squash Federation’s ‘WSF Coach Education Programme’

The Oceania Federation coach education development program assists Member Countries to organise WSF Coaching Courses by identifying and engaging suitability qualified WSF Course Presenters to conduct the program and subsidises costs associated with the course presentation and travel expenses.

Member Countries are encouraged to develop a coaching framework that identifies potential coaches and their progression through the coach education program. Each coach is required to have a WSF SPIN and register as a Coach on the WSF database. Although no fee is charged for a candidate to register for a course there is a fee to obtain a SPIN and formally register as a coach. Coaches are required to re-accredit every three years. On completion of a WSF course the successful candidates are registered on the World Squash Coaching Directory and receive a WSF Coach Certificate after the appropriate fees are paid.

Member Countries who wish to take advantage of Oceania Squash Federation’s Coach Education Development Program are urged to contact the Federation’s Executive Officer who can provide more details –
