World Squash Conference & AGMWSF AGM 2013 Logo

Squash New Zealand has been appointed as venue and host of the 43rd World Squash Federation Annual General Meeting and Conference in late October 2013.

The southern New Zealand city of Christchurch, in the Canterbury region will host the event from Sunday evening 20th October through to Wednesday’s AGM dinner on the 23rd October 2013.

The WSF AGM Conference and AGM location of Christchurch has been chosen to allow delegates, and their partners, to get the best combination of squash, business and pleasure. Canterbury and Christchurch are the gateway to New Zealand’s beautiful South Island.

It is expected that between 80-100 delegates and connected squash people will attend the 3 day conference and World Federation AGM and dinner culminating on the Wednesday. Adding to the festival flavour, The New Zealand Squash Hall of Fame awards are in town too, with 7 new inductees awarded NZ Hall of Fame membership on the Monday evening October 21st at the Christchurch Casino.

Although it is the first time New Zealand will have hosted the World Federation’s AGM, Christchurch is no stranger to World Squash events, having previously hosted two world championship events including the 1996 World Junior Boys and 2008 World Masters Championships.

Conference speakers include NZ Rugby’s CEO Steve Tew, head of Sport New Zealand Peter Miskimmin and Dame Susan Devoy. Papers and reports from the World Federation on the sports Technical and Event advancements will be presented as well as innovations on the professional PSA and WSA world tours.
Delegate and supporter bookings are still being taken, anyone connected to Squash through their national administration, refereeing or competitive playing groups is welcome to attend. Bookings will taken right up until the start of the Conference on Sunday 20th October.
