In 2012 OSF, in partnership with the World Squash Federation, applied to the Commonwealth Games Federation for funding assistance to support a coach education program development initiative in the Oceania Region. We have recently been advised that funding has been approved. We now need to identify where the initial program will be undertaken. OSF has already advertised for expressions of interest in the Development position and received interest from several suitable applicants.
The Development Coach would travel to a Member Country and work closely with the local Squash Association to identify development programs that can be implemented to assist in increasing local player numbers (both junior and senior). This can be done in schools and community groups. In addition the Development Coach may also be able to assist your organisation in securing funding to implement future programs. He would also assist the local coaches to improve their skills to continue any development programs once the Development Coach has left.
It is anticipated that the Development Coach would spend approximately 3 weeks initially setting up programs and return for a follow up program some 3-6 months later. OSF would fund the airfare and salary, however any Member Country who may be interested in taking advantage of this program will need to provide accommodation and transport. This could be in the form of local sponsorship.
We now need your assistance in identifying a Member Country to initiate this program. If your organisation is interested in being considered for this initial development project please fill out the submission form below and return to the OSF Executive Officer by the closing date, Sunday 21st July 2013.
OSF and the Development Coach will work closely with the successful Member Country to implement this project.
OSF look forward to your submissions.
Yours in Squash
