Carol is a worthy recipient of OSF Life Membership in recognition of her service to the sport of squash, particularly in the Oceania Region where she has been driving force behind the development, administration and promotion of the game. She has a long association with squash and voluntary sport administration in Australia and the Oceania Region.
In her late teens she became the Secretary of her local basketball team and has been involved in sport administration in some capacity since that time in a variety of sports including basketball, rugby league, squash and golf. Carol combined her involvement in sport with a successful career in the Public Sector in sport and school administration, finance and policy.
Her involvement in squash administration started in Darwin in 1981 as a Committee Member of her local squash club and coordinator of the district pennant competition. In 1998 she was elected to the Squash NT Board and continued her involved with them in various capacities for 15 years until retiring to Queensland.
In 2003 Carol was elected to the Board of Squash Australia and continued as a Board Member, and later Vice President, until 2011. She represented Australia as a Vice President on the Oceania Squash Federation for 7 years before taking on the role of OSF Executive Officer in 2011 and held this voluntary position until December 2023.
Her great love was Tournament Management and over the years was Tournament Director for many tournaments including the NT Junior and Open Championships (13 years), Arafura Games (7 games), Australian Junior Squash Championships (2002), Australian Masters Squash Championships (2008). In 2009 she went to her first Pacific Mini Games in Rarotonga and has been the WSF International Delegate or Tournament Director for Pacific Games Squash since that time, and TD for Oceania Closed Championships when our sport was not included in the Pacific Games program.
